The Twang meet fans at Birmingham HMV

BIRMINGHAM rockers The Twang delighted hundreds of their fans with a special signing session at a city music store.

Hundreds flocked to HMV in High Street yesterday afternoon to meet the Quinton quintet as they celebrated the launch of Jewellery Quarter, follow-up to the acclaimed 2007 debut album Love It When I Feel Like This.

Singer and co-founder Phil Etheridge said the band deliberately took their time with the second LP to learn from and improve on the first one.

“This is really big for us,” he said.

“We’ve been waiting to get it out for a long time.

“We spent ages getting everything right down to the little details.

“All we want to do is make music and this is what it’s all about – it’s amazing.”

The band were joined in-store by Birmingham urban artist Temper who produced the artwork for the new album cover which shows them tugging on a rope and contains various references to Birmingham’s industrial heritage.

Temper, who first met the group when they rehearsed next door to his studio in the Jewellery Quarter, said: “I believe this band is bringing something to the music industry which has been missing. They really thought about what they wanted to do with the cover.
