Four taken ill at Nationwide Wolverhampton branch

Four people have been taken to hospital by ambulance after falling ill at a branch of the Nationwide Building Society in Wolverhampton.

The building in Three Tuns Parade, Stafford Road, was evacuated after West Midlands Ambulance Service sent a hazardous area reponse team and three ambulances to the scene.

An ambulance service spokesman said: "We were initially called to reports of a pregnant woman in her twenties who had begun feeling 'pins and needles' in her hands.

"A total of four people were taken to New Cross Hospital by ambulance - all with symptoms of feeling tired and generally unwell."

Two other people made their own way to the same hospital.
