Boy taken to hospital after accident near Alrewas

AN eight-year-old boy was in Birmingham Children’s Hospital today after a crash on a busy dual carriageway.

The youngster was airlifted with a head injury after the car he was travelling in collided with another vehicle on the northbound carriageway of the A38 at Branston, near Alrewas, on Saturday afternoon.

A woman who was travelling in the second vehicle involved in the crash was treated for a head and neck injury before being taken by land ambulance to Burton’s Queens Hospital.

Police want any witnesses to call 0300 123 4455.
