Safetynet launched to catch illegal parkers

POLICE are launching a no-nonsense campaign to deter motorists from parking illegally in Walsall.

Motorists will be issued fixed penalty tickets if they park on double red and yellow lines and partially or fully on pavements and footpaths in the Alumwell area.

Vehicles left dangerously near to junctions will also be ticketed by police as part of the three-month Operation Safetynet coordinated by police and Walsall Council Traffic Department’s Civil Enforcement Office.

The scheme starts on Wednesday.
