Nechells pub converted into mosque
A FORMER run-down Nechells canal side pub has been given a new lease of life as a mosque.
The Winning Post Pub on Great Francis Street has been turned into the Nimab Welfare Trust for Nigerian Muslims and their non-Nigerian dependants.
The mosque committee purchased the pub and converted it a fortnight ago for their 200 strong congregation.
The mosque aims to promote Islam, worship, alleviate poverty, organise weddings and other spiritual events, for their members. It also operates as a Saturday school.
