Digbeth car clamping firm boss is arrested

Cash and paperwork was seized from the homes of workers when officers swooped on August 26 but Mr Ryan was on holiday when police went to his detached home in Solihull.

Police and trading standards launched a joint investigation in June after seizing a machine from a car park operated by the firm on Bordesley Street, Digbeth.

Experts employed by trading standards believe it was tampered with so that it did not register £2 coins.

Trading standards officials said they had received 56 complaints about Car Clamping Securities in 2009 alone.

All five men have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit fraud.
