West Midlands workers arrested in fraud probe are bailed

CONSTRUCTION firm workers arrested in swoops across the West Midlands as part of an inquiry into a multi-million pound income tax fraud have been released on bail.
A total of 23 people, 17 from the West Midlands, were held yesterday in a series of raids co-ordinated by Customs and Excise officers and police.
The raids come after a nine-month investigation into rogue companies which were set up by contractors to employ labourers but vanished before paying income tax and National Insurance contributions to the Inland Revenue.
