Man dies after being hit by train in Smethwick

A MAN died after being hit by a train in Smethwick.

It happened at Galton Bridge Railway Station, off Oldbury Road, just before 2pm yesterday.

An ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and a senior paramedic manager were sent to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Unfortunately, nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
