A pirate's life for thee at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery

ARRR me hearties!

Here comes a national festival to get your hooks into – Talk Like A Pirate Day. Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery is leading the Birmingham celebrations with a programme of family events this weekend.

Visitors can meet a ‘Captain Jack Sparrow’ look-a-like and have their own pirate makeover from historical makeup artist Julia Hyland.

There will also be the chance to talk like a pirate with Blackbeard’s scurvy crew, enjoy storytelling with Fiona Collins.

And visitors join in traditional pirate songs with historical musician Tony Westran.

All activities, except makeovers which cost £1 per child, are free and suitable for all ages.

They will take place from 1pm to 4pm tomorrow and Sunday.
