Empty pub in Northfield set on fire

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a suspected arson attack at a derelict Birmingham pub today.

Crews from five fire stations arrived at 2am and spent an hour tackling the blaze at The Dingle in Frankley Beeches Road, Northfield.

The pub was believed to have been empty for at least three months and had been boarded up and surrounded by a security fence.

No one was hurt but half of the roof was destroyed by the flames.
