More than 90 pupil at Kings Heath Primary School took part in workshops with members of the Cotteridge-based morris dancing group Black Adder.

The dance session was part of a school study into cultural identity. Deputy head teacher Paul Clabon said: “The topic they are looking at is ‘ourselves’ and as well as looking at things like the body and senses, the children have also been doing work around cultural identity.

“They have been looking at dances from lots of countries, including dances from cultures which are represented in the school, such as bhangra.

“We wanted to include something which was traditionally English.”
