Asian stars shine for Birmingham Diwali event

THOUSANDS of people turned out to take part in a free Diwali celebration at Millennium Point.

The event featured top Asian stars including Raghav, Navin Kundra and 3 Mix as well as up-and-coming star Karen David, who appeared in hollywood film Couples Retreat.

Mahendra Dabhi, president of the Hindu Council of Birmingham, said: “This free event has now grown to be the largest Diwali celebration in the West Midlands. Millennium Point was transformed to showcase the rich and vibrant culture of India.

“Top acts performed alongside exciting new young talent from a variety of backgrounds.”
