Airlift drama for young driver after Black Country car crash

A YOUNG driver was airlifted to hospital today after crashing his car into a lamppost in the Black Country.

The accident happened in Dreadnought Road in Pensnett, Brierley Hill, at 8.15am.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival at the scene, crews found a car that had been in a collision with a lamppost. The man, believed to be 18 years of age, was treated on scene for a head injury. The doctor from the helicopter gave the man an anaesthetic before airlifting him to Selly Oak Hospital.”
