Post-mortem due after shed blaze death in Handsworth

A POST-mortem is to be carried out on a man who was found dead in a burning garden shed.

Lester Kidd, aged 76, was found by fire crews tackling a blaze in a shed to the rear of a property in Mostyn Road, Handsworth at 11.30pm on Saturday.

Birmingham Coroner’s Office said it received notification of his death yesterday and that a date for an inquest would be set later this week.

Police said they are not treating his death as suspicious but it remains unclear how Mr Kidd came to be in the shed, in the garden of a terraced house.
