Tributes paid to young footballer killed in Frankley hit-and-run one year ago

EMOTIONAL tributes have been paid to a popular young footballer tragically killed in a hit-and-run in Birmingham 12 months ago.

Eight-year-old Jordan Kane was knocked down by a motorist who callously drove on after the collision in Holly Hill Road, Frankley, on November 14 last year.

Despite doctors’ best efforts to save young Jordan, he lost his battle for life at Birmingham Children’s Hospital the following night.

Messages of condolence have been posted on the Gone Too Soon memorial website in the run up to the one-year anniversary.

Jordan’s mum Joanne wrote: “I wish you had been here for my birthday.

“It wasn’t the same without a card or a cuddle from you.

“I love you and miss you so much. Mommy xx.”

Another author, Sharon Davies, said: “Jolly jolly Jordan always makes me laugh, when I think about him I get a happy heart.

“I tucked into my bed last night and I heard him say good night it gave me a happy feeling inside.”

Jordan’s auntie Sally said: “I can’t quite believe it’s been nearly a year since we lost the light of our lives.

“I love and miss you more than ever.
