Mohammed Arshad murder: Man arrested on suspicion of murder

Detectives investigating the death of a taxi driver found stabbed in the head have arrested a man on suspicion of murder, they said today.

Mohammed Arshad, 36, was found with severe head injuries in Kings Norton, near Birmingham, on July 22.

The self-employed father of three, who worked for A Cars, died in hospital the next day. His taxi was found abandoned about a mile away in the Hawkesley Estate in Kings Norton.

West Mercia Police, who have carried out extensive inquiries including an appeal on Crimewatch, today said they arrested a 28-year-old man from Kings Norton last night on suspicion of murder.

A spokeswoman said: "The man is being questioned by detectives at a police station in north Worcestershire."
