Thousands of Stourbridge homes hit by power cut

A power cut in a West Midlands town left nearly 6,000 homes and businesses without electricity.

Power was lost for nearly two hours in Stourbridge due to a fault with a high-voltage cable, Central Networks said.

About 5,900 homes were affected when the power went out on Tuesday afternoon, but engineers fully restored electricity after isolating the fault and re-routing the connection, the company added.

A spokesman apologised for the inconvenience caused to customers, adding that the main priority was to restore power as quickly as possible.
