Family found for Drayton Manor Zoo gibbon

A TINY ape has been gibbon the chance of survival thanks to caring Midland zookeepers.

A baby gibbon called Thomas has been hand-reared by the keepers who have now re-homed him with a family of apes.

Tiny Thomas was born at Drayton Manor Zoo in March 2008, and was cared for by staff after his mother rejected him.

But as the youngster grew up and became more independent, his carers decided it was time to find him a new home.

On Friday, zoo managers Joyce and Robin Roberts waved him off, as he was taken to live with a family of gibbons at Twycross Zoo.
