Great Barr man jailed for sex attacks on two schoolgirls

A 56-YEAR-old Great Barr man who carried out sex attacks on two young schoolgirls has been put behind bars for three years.

Judge John Wait further ruled that Michael Read should register as a sex offender for the rest of his life and he barred him from ever working with children.

Prosecutor Helena Miller told Wolverhampton Crown Court that Read showed one of his victims a pornographic film before carrying out a sex attack.

Read, of Old Walsall Road, Great Barr, admitted two charges of sexual assault on a child under 13 years of age.

Michael Gray, defending, said Read had been drinking heavily before committing the offences and he had little recollection of the events.
