Updated: One dead, one seriously injured after Wolverhampton nightclub shooting
A MAN has died after suffering gun shot wounds in a Wolverhampton nightclub.
Police were called to Tropical Harmony nightclub in Bilston High Street at 4.30am today.
Two men were found with gunshot wounds and taken to hospital by paramedics.
One of the men later died, while the second man is thought to have injuries "which are not life threatening."
Around 50 people were in the club at the time, say police, who would like those clubbers to contact police.
Anybody with information is urged to call West Midlands Police or call Crimestoppers.
Issuing an appeal for witnesses, the spokesman said a major investigation had been launched into the incident at the High Street club.
The spokesman added: "Two men were found with gunshot wounds and were taken to hospital. One of the men later died.
"It is believed there were around 50 people in the club at the time of the incident, and police are appealing for these people, and anybody else who may have witnessed anything, to come forward."
The shooting comes a year after three people were injured when shots were fired as violence spilled out the nightclub.
Two men, both aged in their 40s, and a 25-year-old woman were taken to hospital following the incident on September 29 last year, but were reported to have escaped serious injuries.
Anybody with information about the latest shooting is urged to call West Midlands Police on 0845 113 5000 or the Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555 111.
