Firefighters rescue 94-year-old man from Solihull house fire
FIREFIGHTERS rescued a 94-year-old man from a kitchen fire in his Solihull home today.
The pensioner, from Heath Gardens in Elmdon Heath, was led to safety at about 2.15am after suffering from smoke inhalation.
A spokesman from Solihull Fire Station said: “The microwave burst into flames as a result of incorrect use, but the man was led to safety.”
Crews from Solihull, Sheldon and Bickenhill battled with the blaze for about 90 minutes.
