Brave Birmingham cancer battler in plea for more Little Stars

BRAVE Birmingham schoolgirl Sacha Richards, who received a national charity award for her courageous fight against cancer, is appealing for more young victims of the disease to be named Little Stars.
The 11-year old from Great Barr was left unable to eat, speak or move after being diagnosed with leukaemia.
But Sacha’s resilience captured the hearts of many and inspired others fighting cancer.
Her courage was recognised by Cancer Research UK and she was given a Little Star award.
Now keen to show off her star-shaped trophy she wants to encourage more youngsters to shine.
Sacha, who lives in Ridgewood Gardens, with mum Terri-Ann, dad Gavin and sisters Jamie and Amber, was told the devastating news she had leukaemia in January, 2008, which triggered a frightening psychological response.
Despite the diagnosis she fought through her fear to go back to the classroom and pass her 11-plus exam to get into Sutton Coldfield Grammar School.
Sacha is still having chemotherapy but she isn’t letting it get in the way of her schoolwork.
