Driver dragged from blazing car after crash in Nechells, Birmingham

A SERIOUSLY-injured driver was rescued by a quick-thinking passer-by who dragged him from his car after it smashed into a wall and burst into flames.
The 34-year-old motorist was driving in Nechells when the collision happened at the junction of Holborn Hill and Plume Street shortly after midnight.
West Midlands Police said the Audi A6 “burst into flames after colliding with the wall”.
A spokesman added: “A man aged 34 was rescued from the car by a member of the public. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his head.”
The driver was today in a critical condition in hospital.
