Alum Rock Afghan man extradited after illegal immigrants probe

A BIRMINGHAM man arrested as part of an international probe into a criminal network suspected of smuggling thousands of illegal immigrants into Europe has been extradited.

Afghanistan national Jambaz Ahmadzai, 40, from Alum Rock, was one of five held across the UK as part of the inquiry.

Simultaneous raids in four other European countries last month resulted in a further 18 arrests.
