Bordesley Green prostitute gets sex-in-potting-shed ASBO ban

A PROSTITUTE and her boyfriend have been handed three-year Anti Social Behaviour Orders after she had sex with clients on communal staircases and in a garden shed.

Kim Owens, aged 31, has been banned from having sex in the shed and from lining clients up along the stairs to a waiting room-style sofa outside her front door. Her boyfriend, Kamran Iqbal, 29, was also given a court order after neighbours said they had been terrorised by the couple’s late night foul mouthed punch ups, visits from drug dealers and abuse towards other residents.

Neighbours said “punters” had queued up the stairs to have sex with Owens and that she had

formed sex acts in cars, the shared shed and even on the stairs themselves.

They claimed that Iqbal would also lie in wait to rob some of the clients inside the flat once they had handed over the money to Owens.

A full three-year Asbo was granted at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court yesterday after Birmingham City Council’s Anti Social Behaviour Unit took the pair to court.

The “thoroughly unpleasant” couple failed to turn up and were handed the Asbo in their absence.

District Judge Zara, said there had been overwhelming evidence against the couple who share a privately rented flat in Bromwich Close, Bordesley Green.

Neighbours, who arrived to give evidence yesterday, said they were “relieved” that it was now all over.

One of the residents, who did not want her name printed, said some residents had left the area and one family was too scared to open their own front door.

She added: “We are relieved that we will finally get some reprieve. She has lived here for four years and the last two years have been hell.

“The problems have been non-stop. The flat does not even have windows anymore. There are used condoms everywhere, drugs, fights, screaming and shouting at 3am and punters queuing up the stairs.

“She has even been having sex in full view of people in the communal stairs areas and in cars.

“We have called out police to very serious incidents at least 15 times and there have been cases where he has robbed her clients. They are thoroughly unpleasant people.

“We just want to thank BASBU and the police for all of the work they have done to help us. They have been absolutely marvellous.”

Owens was given a nine point Asbo which bans her from having any visitors after 11pm. She has also been told that she must not engage in any sexual acts in a public place, including the shared shed.

She was also told that nobody could wait on the stairs up to her property or on a sofa outside her front door or on a garden bench outside.

Iqbal was given a six point Asbo.

Both of them were banned from verbally abusing, harassing or intimidating anybody on the street. They were also banned from shouting, screaming and using foul language near the home.

They will also breach the Asbo if they fight in the area, or discard used condoms, cans or cigarette stubs.

If either of them breach the terms of the Asbo, which will be in place until 2012, they could face up to five years in prison.
