Sentencing adjourned on former Staffordshire preacher over sex attacks on boys

A FORMER Midland Methodist preacher facing new charges for a string of alleged sex attacks on young boys has been further remanded in custody by a judge.

Keith Morton, 43, was due to appear for sentence before Judge Nicholas Webb at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

But he adjourned the case after being told Morton, who was a preacher at Alrewas Methodist Church, in Staffordshire, was now being investigated for a number of other sex offences.

Morton has already admitted two serious sexual offences involving boys, six charges of indecent assault and two of inciting a child to commit an act of gross indecency.

Morton, now living in Carmel Rise, Darlington, is now likely to appear before Stafford Crown Court for sentence.
