Yardley Wood train station attack: police make CCTV appeal
Dec 9 2009 by Mark Cowan, Birmingham Mail
A YOB who bit a Birmingham train station worker during an attempted break-in was today being hunted by police.
The thug tricked the booking clerk into leaving his office after claiming a passenger had collapsed on the platform at Yardley Wood railway station.
As the clerk opened the door the man grabbed him. During the struggle the staff member was bitten on the hand. The attacker was seen leaving the station along Highfield Road.
Police today released CCTV of a man they wanted to trace in connection with the assault, which happened at about 11.30am on November 11 and appealed for the public’s help to identify him. The offender was white, aged in his 40s and small. He had a dark beard and was wearing a blue hat, a navy fleece and jeans, and was riding a red bicycle.
