Thousands pledge Cadbury support on Facebook

THE battle to save Cadbury has taken off in cyberspace – with thousands of well-wishers pledging their support for the chocolate-maker on Facebook.

One local campaigner, Sarah McDonnell, of Moseley, has already amassed 3,000 supporters since setting up the site three weeks ago.

Sarah’s Save Cadbury From Kraft – Keep It British is one of a number of online initiatives aimed at seeing off the US giant’s bid to muscle in on the chocolate manufacturer.

She said: “I am sick of seeing industry in this area going down the pan.

“We are selling ourselves to the devil.

Other Facebook initiatives set up include Kevin Benton’s Cadbury Is Proud To Be British – So Let’s Keep It That Way and Keep Cadbury British.
