Birmingham Hippodrome stars prepare for opening day of Sleeping Beauty

SLEEPING beauty is living up to her name, the prince is ready to sweep her off her feet...and Joe Pasquale is still cracking jokes.

Just three days remain before the star-studded cast take to the Hippodrome for the opening of the Disney classic Sleeping Beauty.

Dancing on Ice winner Ray Quinn, former Coronation Street stunner Lucy Evans, and female impersonator Ceri Dupree are just three of the big names performing at the venue they describe as the ‘biggest and best in the country’.

But it’s the King of the Jungle Pasquale who is lightening the mood and easing the stress of rehearsals. “Joe’s had me in stitches every day,” said Lucy. “He gets me into trouble because even when I’m supposed to be putting on a serious face he makes me laugh.”
