Highbury Park in Moseley restoration work welcomed

IMPROVEMENTS to a historic city park have been welcomed by a council committee.

The Victorian Highbury Park on the border of King Heath and Moseley will get its drainage improved and some ditches cleared.

The traditional Henbury wall, partly fenced off for safety reasons, will be cleaned of graffiti, re-pointed and restored.

The works are funded using spin-off cash from local developments. Coun John Alden, chairman of the city’s charities and trusts committee, said: “These improvements are fabulous news. It is a move in the right direction towards returning Highbury Park to its former glory.”
