British Transport Police launch hunt after teenager assaulted on Birmingham to Redditch train

A TEENAGER was pulled to the floor and repeatedly punched in an unprovoked attack on board a train in Birmingham.

The 17-year-old victim was singled out by a group of teenage girls as she travelled on the 3.43pm Birmingham New Street to Redditch service on Thursday December 17.

British Transport Police said one of the girls grabbed the victim by her neck and pulled her to the floor before punching her in the face and stomach.

The attackers, described as white and aged 16 to 18, fled the train with the victim’s phone when it stopped in Selly Oak.

One was stocky with dark brown hair, wearing a black jacket and tracksuit bottoms.

The second was skinny with dark brown hair, wearing a black Adidas tracksuit while the third had lighter hair.

PC Linsi Robinson said: “This was a very nasty, unprovoked attack.”

Witnesses can call police on 0800 40 50 40.
