Winson Green residents suffer electricity loss

RESIDENTS in Winson Green were forced to battle the freezing temperatures with no electricity yesterday.

Around 30 homes in the Soho ward were left with no power as an underground cable had been damaged.

Supplies were cut off at 3am yesterday morning and it wasn’t until early afternoon that work got underway to repair the damage.

Homes in Peel Street, Aberdeen Street and Lansdowne Street were hit, however the nearby Birmingham City Hospital was not affected

For some homes, power supplies were dead for more than 12 hours.
