MAJOR changes to the busy A38 commuter route, designed to pave the way for the regeneration of Longbridge, have been approved by city planners.
The Bristol Road South, Lickey Road and Longbridge Lane junctions will be realigned, revised and widened to relieve bottlenecks and increase traffic capacity ahead of the massive Longbridge development.
Planning committee chairman Peter Douglas Osborn said: “This is vital for the future development of Longbridge and the MG Rover site.
“These changes will make the whole system work.”
The former car factory site is to be developed for hi-tech industry.
