Bin backlog finally cleared in Walsall

AROUND 20,000 Black Country households had rubbish carted away over the weekend to clear the backlog left over from the big freeze.
Crews took to the streets of Walsall on Saturday to collect the extra bins which in some areas had built up for nearly a month.
Coun Mike Flower, cabinet member for the environment, said: “The severe weather caused unavoidable disruption and we apologise.”
