Hatrick award for Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery

AN INTERNET website showcasing Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery’s world famous Pre-Raphaelite collection has scooped its third major award just six months after it was launched.

The site, www.preraphaelites.org was launched last summer and already boasts the largest online collection of Pre-Raphaelite art in the world and more than 2,000 fine and decorative artworks.

It won the BETT Award for best digital collection and resource bank.

The latest accolade follows earlier victories in the BIMA (British Interactive Media Association) and DADI (Drum Award for Digital Industries) Awards.

Birmingham’s leisure chief Coun Martin Mullaney said: “The awards keep coming thick and fast for this outstanding website.”
