Perry Barr businessman pleads guilty to selling dangerous toys
A BIRMINGHAM businessman has pleaded guilty to selling toys without safety regulation markings.
An investigation by Trading Standards officials found Zarateshtera Ltd, based at One Stop Shopping Centre in Perry Barr, had more than 100 play items at the premises which lacked a trade name or the CE mark required by toy safety regulations. These included soft dolls, toy trucks, radio controlled cars and jigsaw puzzles.
One of the company’s directors, Mr Naby, pleaded guilty to the possessing the toys with intent to supply, at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Friday.
The case was adjourned until February 18.
