Tributes paid to dad of 3 Jermaine Inglestone after Sheldon death crash

A DAD-OF-THREE who died in a road smash on Tuesday was due to marry his childhood sweetheart this year.

Motorbike fanatic Jermaine Inglestone was killed when his Honda crashed into a car on Granby Road in Sheldon, Birmingham, as he rode home from the gym.

The 24-year-old self-employed car salesman leaves behind three children including a two-month-old son and their heartbroken mum, Tasha Clarke, aged 25.

The childhood sweethearts had been together for almost 10 years after meeting at school and were hoping to marry this year.

Tasha was too upset to speak, but released a statement through her family, saying: “Jermaine was one of the best partners and fathers anybody could have wished for.

“He was loving and caring and would have done anything for anyone.

“He had one of the biggest smiles in the world and everyone will remember him for that.

“He is the brightest star in the sky and I will truly love and miss him forever.”

Tasha gave birth to the couple’s third child, Bailey Jermaine, just 10 weeks ago, who is brother to five-year-old Leah and Renaye, aged three.

Jermaine was riding his Honda machine north along Granby Avenue at 12.25pm on Tuesday and is understood to have gone in to the side of a car which had pulled out.

He suffered serious multiple injuries as he was thrown into a second car and went into cardiac arrest.

Despite the efforts of paramedics and doctors from the Midlands Air Ambulance, which was called to the scene, he could not be saved and the former Perry Beeches School pupil was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car, a man believed to be in his 50s, was treated at the scene for shock.

Scores of floral tributes and cards have been left at the site of the crash by friends and family.

Tasha’s mother, Christine Clarke, aged 45, said Jermaine was “larger than life” and doted on his children.

“He was always the life and soul of the party and a bit of a joker,” she said.

“Everybody who met him will always remember his amazing smile and the way he charmed them.

“Tasha is absolutely devastated and she is finding it very hard to come to terms with it.

“They had been together for a long time and they wanted to get married soon.

“The kids don’t really understand but the eldest realises that something is wrong.

“After his family, the gym and his motorbike were the biggest things in his life.

“He had been riding bikes since he was 16 and he was very safe and experienced.

“Jermaine had so many friends and I’ve been amazed at their support for the whole family.”

An inquest was opened and adjourned yesterday .
