City cyclists team up with PCT to organise spring bike rides

CYCLISTS in Birmingham have teamed up with health bosses to organise a series of public bike rides in the coming spring.

Birmingham’s cycling charity, called Push Bikes, is currently planning the rides along with the South Birmingham Primary Care Trust, in a bid to encourage people out of their cars and on their bikes.

John Denley, from the trust, said: “We recognise the health benefits of cycling and are eager to work with organisations that promote this form of exercise. Push Bikes, being a community-based organisation that encourages an promotes cycle use is an ideal partner in this task.

John Bennet, chairman of Push Bikes, added: “We want to make these rides enjoyable and stimulating so that people will continue to cycle as part of their regular commute or exercise.”
