95 per cent of parents get first choice of school for children in Staffordshire.

NINETY five per cent of parents applying for school places for their children are celebrating being given their first choice in Staffordshire.

Staffordshire County Council has today sent out letters and emails to parents who applied online to inform them of which school their child will attend from September.

While 95 per cent of applicants were allocated their first choice of Staffordshire secondary schools, 98 per cent were allocated one of their top three preferred schools.

A council spokeswoman said: “A large number of parents now have very good reason to be pleased with the schools admissions process.”
