Woman was airlifted to hospital following a collision with a car in Wolverhampton, near the junction of the Birmingham New Road and Meadow Lane

A WOMAN was airlifted to hospital following a collision with a car in Wolverhampton.

It happened near the junction of the Birmingham New Road and Meadow Lane at around 10.50am yesterday morning.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find a woman lying in the road. The woman, believed to be in her 60s, suffered a significant head injury in the collision and was not fully conscious.

“The woman was then flown to Selly Oak Hospital. No one else was injured in the crash.”
