Water Orton teenager Latisihia Brazier fights for life after being dragged under bus

A MIDLAND model was left fighting for her life after being dragged for 500 yards under a bus.

Pretty Latishia Brazier, from Water Orton, Birmingham, nearly died when she suffered punctured lungs, broken ribs and a broken neck during the road smash.

The 23 year-old was dragged for 500 yards under the double decker bus while returning home after a night out with friends in London where she is studying fashion.

The horrific crash happened in the early hours of last Tuesday in Haymarket.

The bus driver has been suspended while the bus firm and police investigate.

Latisha, who attends East London College and does promotional modelling work, had to be sedated for several days while doctors worked on her chest injuries.

Her brother Earl said she was knocked down as she ran for the bus because she was frightened of being left alone in the capital late at night.

He said the East London College student regularly does promotional modelling work.

“It was 3am in the morning and her two friends were already on the bus,” the 33-year-old facilities manager said.

“Her Oyster travel card didn’t work, so she asked the driver to wait while she got off to buy a ticket, but the machine wasn’t working.

“As she went back to pay with cash, he drove off and she was on her own. I can’t believe that. Anything can happen to a young girl on her own. What’s £2 really, and she had the money anyway.”

Earl said it is believed that Latisha chased the bus to a nearby set of traffic lights, where it stopped.

But as she caught up, it drove away at speed.

“She tried to get on and got dragged underneath,” Earl said.

“Her friends began screaming and hitting the emergency stop button, but he didn’t let them off until the next stop.

“He left her for dead, he has a duty of care. There has been no apology, no get well card, nothing from the bus company.”

Latishia’s worried pals ran back down the road to find her in a pool of blood.
