80,000 celebrate St Patrick’s Day at Birmingham parade
Paddy Mescall, aged 70, is originally from Co. Clare but who now lives in Sutton Coldfield. He said: “People of all races and ages have come together to celebrate Irish culture.”
Bridget O’Conner, aged 60, from Acocks Green, said: “It’s great that Irish culture is still celebrated.”
The parade kickstarted a five-day festival with events planned in the build up to St Patrick’s Day on Wednesday.
