GROUNDBREAKING research in Birmingham and London has revealed a breakthrough in treating children with autism.
The study saw youngsters from the age of two dramatically improve their IQ within a year.
Scientists at UK Young Autism Project reported significant improvements in intellectual ability, language and social skills for children receiving intensive treatment of 36 hours per week for a full year.
It involved 44 children, aged between two and three and a half, given a behaviour analysis programme with a teaching curriculum and saw the group increase IQ by an average 16 points.
