A NEW interactive feature and visitor centre was given a noisy, colourful lift-off at Birmingham International Airport.
A host of people dressed up as knights, Shakespearian actors, ballerina and bhangra dancers, queued up at a check-in desk to mark the launch of the Heart of England’s interactive wall and visitor centre.
The 18-metre long wall is the longest motion-triggered projection screen in Europe.
Imagery highlighting the region’s business, tourism and cultural features will appear, each time a visitor passes.
The Visitor Centre has been created by Marketing Birmingham, for both business and leisure travellers.
It will provide information on a wide range of tourist destinations as well as those of interest to the business community.
Paul Kehoe, chief Executive of Birmingham International Airport, said: “Positioned at the heart of the country, we are perfectly placed for those visitors from abroad who want to experience all that the region, and further afield, has to offer. ”
