SEVERAL motorway accidents left rush-hour motorists stuck in traffic queues – some for more than two hours.
They happened during yesterday’s morning rush hour. A car and a lorry collided at 7.20am on the M6 southbound near junction 9 at Wednesbury, resulting in hour-long delays as emergency crews cleared the scene.
Earlier, on the M6 northbound, there was more traffic chaos when two HGV lorries collided leading to two lanes being closed between Junctions 10 and 11.
And, in Warwickshire, a collision between three cars on the M42 southbound caused more lengthy journeys for motorists between Tamworth and Curdworth.
On Tuesday, numerous roads around Erdington and Castle Vale were affected by a collision involving a car and two pedestrians in Chester Road, Castle Vale, at 2.45pm.
A mum suffered an ankle injury and her 13-year-old son had a head injury and back pain. Both were taken to Heartlands Hospital for treatment.
Traffic was delayed for up to three hours around the Fort Parkway, Chester Road and Bromford Lane areas.
