Jaguar's top-selling XF named best executive car

JAGUAR’S top selling XF saloon has scooped the title of Best Executive Model in the prestigious JD Power UK survey.

The XF – on its debut in the competition – also took overall second place, helping boost Jaguar’s position in the manufacturer’s title.

And the Birmingham car maker took third place out of 27 manufacturers.

Geoff Cousins, managing director, Jaguar UK said: “Surveys that are based on customer satisfaction are always of great importance to us because they are a true reflection of how well our products are fairing.

“We have placed the customer – and their enjoyment of our cars – at the centre of what we do, and while we won’t get complacent, Jaguar’s success in the latest JD Power survey shows that we design and manufacture cars that fulfil all of our customers’ needs in comfort, style and luxury.

“There are 24,000 Jaguar XFs on UK roads and sales go from strength to strength. We are confident the new XJ will be as well received around the country and Jaguar will maintain its status as the premium luxury choice for car buyers across Britain.”

The survey showed XF owners awarded its styling full marks as well as complimenting the car’s running costs, performance and refinement. Jaguar is celebrating its 75th anniversary of building and racing cars by returning to Le Mans.

The company’s stunning XKR GT2 sports car lines up alongside the world’s leading endurance racers on June 12 for the classic 24-hour event.

With a total of seven wins between 1951 and 1990, the marque is the single most successful British car maker in the history of the race.

Mike O’Driscoll, managing director of Jaguar Cars said: “Our domination of Le Mans in the 1950s was a foundation stone in our history and our success in the late ’80s and early ’90s reinforced our reputation as one of the great sports car manufacturers.

“As we look to the future with our new range of high performance ‘R’-branded cars – the XKR and XFR – we aim to make the Jaguar brand synonymous with motorsports once again. It’s good to be back.”
