FAMILIES flocked to an historic Birmingham building for a taste of summer fun.
Visitors young and old took part in the open day at Highbury Hall in Yew Tree Road, Moseley, yesterday.
The Grade II manor house was built as a family home in 1878 by Birmingham’s most famous parliamentarian, the Rt Hon Joseph Chamberlain MP.
“The hall is now used for everything from weddings to business meetings, conferences and private functions,” said a spokesman for the venue. “We wanted to hold this event so we could show off all of its glory.
“It commands such superb views across the neighbouring Highbury Park that you’ll be amazed you are still in the heart of Birmingham.”
During the event light refreshments were on sale and people enjoyed a garden barbecue.
Visitors also paid for guided tours, with experts telling them about the building’s history.
