Birmingham schoolchildren in dance-off

DOZENS of Birmingham schoolchildren will be putting their best foot forward in a ballroom dance-off.

The year five primary schoolchildren will be doing the fox trot, rumba and tango at the Tower Ballroom, in Edgbaston, after months of training.

World famous dancer Pierre Dulaine, portrayed by Hollywood heart-throb Antonio Banderas in the hit movie Take The Lead, has been working with pupils from Turves Green Primary in Northfield, Chad Vale and St George’s in Edgbaston, and Chandos Primary in Highgate, as part of the ten-week programme.

Mr Dulaine said: “The children who took part in Birmingham have been on an amazing journey and have transformed into fantastic dancers.”

The dance-off takes place on July 8.
