Two found dead in Quinton house

TWO people have been found dead in a house in Quinton in what is understood to be a carbon monoxide tragedy.

Detectives have launched an investigation after two bodies – believed to be a couple – were discovered in a property in Minton Road.

Emergency crews were called to the property in a quiet cul-de-sac at 7pm yesterday and firefighters were seen entering the building wearing gas masks.

Gas safety experts were then also called to the scene shortly afterwards.

Last night all the windows of the house were open.

Neighbours said a couple in their 40s lived in the house.

Ron Ali, 49, said: “We don’t really know the people but they are an Oriental couple in their 40s.

“From what we have heard they died of carbon monoxide poisoning which is quite shocking.

“It was strange because all of a sudden fire engines and police cars turned up on the street and that never happens. There was no smoke but firefighters were going into the building wearing masks.”

The dad-of-one who is an auditor, said: “It’s definitely a wake up call, we have a smoke alarm but no carbon monoxide tester, we will be getting one now and it’s a shame that it takes such a tragedy for you to take notice and act.”

Wife Felicity added: “I went by the house on Thursday night at about 6pm and I didn’t notice anything at all. It’s a real shame.”
