New Defence Chief gets low down on new military ward in Birmingham

GENERAL Sir David Richards, who is preparing to become the new Chief of Defence Staff in October, made a flying visit to the new military ward at Birmingham’s new Queen Elizabeth superhospital.

He was briefed on nursing care and met wounded soldiers on the military-managed ward which treats most of the UK’s injured troops.
